Test Results
You can view many of your test results through the NHS App.
Understanding Your Test Results
Once your test results have been reviewed by our clinical team, you may see a message or status explaining the outcome.
Normal or Satisfactory – No Further Action
Your results are within the expected range and no further action is currently required.
Still having symptoms?
A normal test result does not always explain why you are feeling unwell. If your symptoms are continuing, getting worse or you remain concerned, please submit a new medical request through Anima so we can review your symptoms.
Abnormal but Expected
This means that one or more of your results are outside the standard reference range, but the result may be expected for you because of an existing condition, medication or your previous results.
The clinician reviewing your results has compared them with your medical history and previous tests and has decided whether any further action is needed.
Clinician Review / Appointment Required
If one or more of your results require further discussion or follow-up, we will contact you.
You may be sent a link to book an appointment with an appropriate clinician. Depending on the result and how soon the clinician feels you need to be reviewed, this appointment may be within 1 to 4 weeks.
Please don't worry if your appointment is not immediate. The clinician reviewing your results will consider the urgency when deciding how quickly you need to be seen.
Results Requiring Urgent Attention
If a clinician identifies a result that requires urgent or immediate action, we will contact you directly rather than asking you to wait for a routine appointment.
Please make sure your telephone number and contact details are up to date.
Tests Requested by a Hospital or Consultant
If a test, scan or procedure was requested by a hospital consultant or hospital department, you will need to contact the team that requested the test for your results and any follow-up.
The hospital team that requested the investigation is responsible for reviewing the results, explaining what they mean and arranging any further care or treatment needed.
Tests & Monitoring
Regular tests and monitoring are an important part of looking after your health. They help us spot changes early, monitor long-term conditions and make sure your medication and treatment remain safe and effective.
Depending on your needs, you may be invited for blood tests, blood pressure checks, urine tests or other routine monitoring. Please complete any tests or checks when requested so we can continue to provide you with safe and appropriate care.
