About Us — Southend Coastal Surgeries
Southend Coastal Surgeries provides NHS general practice care across three sites in Southend:
-
Thorpe Bay Branch
-
North Shoebury Branch
-
Norton Place Branch
-
Westcliff Medical Centre
Together, these branches form one unified practice dedicated to delivering safe, modern and compassionate healthcare for individuals and families throughout the community. Although each site serves its own neighbourhood, our shared clinical systems and integrated team ensure that patients experience continuity of care wherever they choose to be seen.
Our approach to healthcare is rooted in listening.
We believe that understanding what matters to our patients is the foundation of good primary care, and we continually adapt our services based on the feedback we receive. This commitment to improvement has shaped the way we work, from expanding access to strengthening communication and investing in the people who support our patients every day.

Our Patient Promise
At Southend Coastal Surgeries, you are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to feel listened to, supported and confident in the care you receive.
We promise to help you reach the right care
Our GPs, nurses, pharmacists, Care Co-ordinators, Care Navigators and wider healthcare team work together to make sure you are directed to the right person or service for your needs.
We promise to give you choice
We understand that healthcare needs to fit around your life. That’s why we offer different ways to access care, including face-to-face, telephone and video consultations, alongside evening and Saturday appointments where available.
We promise to make contacting us easier
We continue to improve the ways you can reach us, including Anima, the NHS App, Andi and our dedicated Call Centre Team.
Our aim is to make accessing care as simple and straightforward as possible.
We promise to support you if you’re not digital
Digital services aren’t right for everyone — and that’s okay.
If you cannot use our online services, our Care Navigation Team will support you over the phone or in person and can complete a request with you when needed.
Being unable to use digital services will never prevent you from accessing care.
We promise to communicate clearly
We will do our best to explain what is happening with your care, what you need to do next and where you can go for further help.
We want our communication to be clear, kind and easy to understand.
We promise to listen
Your experience matters.
We regularly review patient feedback to understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve. Your comments help us shape and develop the services we provide.
We promise to keep improving
Healthcare is always changing, and so are we.
We will continue to look for better ways to provide safe, accessible and high-quality care for our patients and our wider community.
Our promise is simple:
To listen. To support. To communicate. To provide the best care we can.
Four sites. One team. Here for Southend — and here for you.
